A fashion show for a good cause will soon be taking the catwalk with some added fall flair.

Tiger Lily Boutique is partnering with First National Bank to return with its Fall Fashion Show to benefit the FUEL Program, an event it has hosted for over seven years.

The FUEL program aims to provide food for children in the school system who struggle with food insecurity. The program tackles this problem by sending food home with the students during weekends and extended breaks when the school-provided meals aren’t available to the vulnerable youth.

Tiger Lily owner Kari Burnett has been involved in the school system for 20 years, the last eight of which have been spent serving as a counselor at WCHS. Her experience makes the FUEL program and its cause something that hits very close to home.

“When we first started, we had a conversation about having some kind of community event to benefit a program, and the girls suggested the FUEL program,” explained Burnett of how the Fall Fashion Show found its start. “We thought it would be a good fit with me being in the school system. It is so rewarding being able to give those children the food they need when school isn’t in session.”

The show will feature vendors to shop with, giveaways, delicious food and fun to supplement the showcase of this season’s best digs.

“It is really a lot of fun. Of course, we will have a great showing of the latest fashions and talented models, but we include the community by getting some of the WCHS students here as well. We will have two students selling their handmade jewelry and crafts, and the culinary arts program students will provide some quick bites in between all the activity,” said Burnett. “I would love to see more community support for these kids and those who benefit from the FUEL program.”

Admission is $25 with all ticket sales going directly to the FUEL program funds. Tickets are available online by going to their Eventbrite page, but can also be purchased in-store at Tiger Lily Boutique. Those who wish to donate and are unable to attend can still make donations.

The Fall Fashion Show will be taking place Nov. 6 from 2-4 p.m. at First National Bank located at 200 E. Main Street.
