On Friday in what was built as one of the biggest games in the NTC so far this season. It was close in the early going but Altamont flexed their defensive muscles in the middle quarters. The Indians would go on to win in decisive fashion, 61-43 over North Clay.

Both teams came in on win streaks and early on the game went back and fourth, living up to the hype of the game.  Alex Boose for North Clay got the game started with a three. Altamont would gain the lead 5-3 with a three from Avery Jahraus.  Logan Fleener for the Cardinals would trade baskets back and fourth with the Indians as Fleener poured in six in the first quarter. Fleener had a layup at the end of the quarter to cut the lead to three,  16-13 after one.

Mason Robinson would take over in the 2nd for Altamont. Robinson scored eight in the quarter including a couple of big threes. Jared Hammer also would come up big in several parts of the next couple of quarters with some key steals. Eric Kollmann was also a beast on the boards pouring in six in the first half, mostly on offensive put backs. Fleener would score six more to try and keep the Cardinals in it.  A late defensive stop for the Indians would see the lead grow to nine at the break 30-21.

North Clay out of the locker started to have some turnovers mount and shots just weren’t falling for the Cards.  Altamont would take control in the second half.  A couple of key plays late in the quarter would come from Hammer and Dillan Elam.  Off of a steal Hammer would find Kollmann running in transition for the layup to get the crowd into a frenzy.  Elam would make a three late in the quarter as well,  as the lead grew to 14 after three 43-29.

In the fourth quarter Altamont finished things off with some more baskets from Kollmann, who finished with 14 on the night. A  Jahraus three pointer with less than two minutes to go would be the dagger and Altamont would go on to win  61-43.  Altamont win streak stands at double digits now 10.

Altamont improves to 15-3 overall and 3-0 in the NTC. The win being ever so important with the seeding meeting for the conference tournament happening on Saturday morning.

North Clay sees their winning streak snapped at eight. The Cardinals falls to 12-5 and 3-1 in the NTC.
