‘SpongeBob’ show opens Friday

The weather-delayed opening of the combined Abilene High-Cooper High musical production of “SpongeBob” begins at 7 p.m. Friday in the AHS auditorium.

The Thursday night opening was pushed back a day to allow for rehearsal after those were called off Monday-Wednesday due to school closings.

The musical also will be on stage Saturday afternoon and evening, with a 3 p.m. matinee Sunday added.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

‘Fabulous Fun Fashion Show’ is Friday

Abilene Woman’s Club is having a unique fashion show beginning at 11 a.m. Friday. Lunch will be served.

Club members and others in the community will showcase outfits they made from repurposed items in their closets or found at local thrift stories.

Cost to attend is $50. This is a fundraiser for the historic building at 3425 South 14th St. The building is a Texas historic landmark (awarded in 2005).
