Two Years On, This Best-Selling Jacket Is Still the Perfect Spring Layer

We’ve reached that awkward time of year when we’re all more than ready for spring, and we can see the signs that it’s coming, but the cold snap continues (have you seen the snow this week!?). However, with a new season mindset in place, we’re reluctant to keep reaching for hefty winter coats, and have noticed everyone has been turning to one notable outerwear style in particular.

It’s our job to keep on the cutting edge of all things trend-related but we wanted to tell you about a jacket that has been going strong since, well, two years ago. In fact, we probably don’t even need to fill you in on it, since it’s been hard to avoid over the last couple of years. The Frankie Shop Quilted Ripstock Jacket was spotted on every fashion editor and influencer last year, so naturally, the style sold out at record speed, but we are happy to report that it’s back in stock again just in time for the transition into spring.

And it’s not only us who’s dusting ours off again. As the weather warms ever so slightly we’re spotting this perfect between-season style everywhere once again—including on our stylishly blessed contributors Jessica Skye and Monikh Dale, who have helpfully shared multiple ways to wear it on their respective Instagram accounts…

Inspired by traditional army surplus liner jackets and coming in stylish shades of khaki, black, brown and white, this outwear gem is essentially a streamlined, cooler (in both meanings of the word) version of your trusty winter puffer. With a collarless neckline and oversized fit, it might be lightweight, but it lends itself perfectly to layering under thicker coats, over blazers and on top of chunky knitwear in this (hopefully temporary) cold weather. It’s also light enough to be taken with you on any weekend breaks or overnight stays. Just take your styling cues from Tanice and wear it with easy straight jeans and ballet pumps, or switch for chunky boots like Anna (all pictured below).

Keep scrolling to see some outfit inspo, and then shop the jacket itself— as well as other quilted jackets on the market.
