New beauty salon opens in Dunnstown

DUNNSTOWN — Coco’s Beauty Loft is having its grand opening today at 220 Woodward Ave, Suite 4 in Lock Haven. The event will be running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes discounted $10 brow waxes along with a complimentary consultation. People who book an appointment during this time frame will also get a gift bag of free goodies to go along with their treatment.

The new business is led by veteran of the industry, Chloe Evenden. Before opening her salon, Evenden had previously achieved both her cosmetology license and esthetician license from the Lancaster School of Cosmetology and Therapeutic Body Work. Along with this, Evenden has 12 years of experience working within the beauty industry, getting employed at a salon and spa in State College directly after her schooling.

Evenden’s dedication to her work is clearly shown by her long term commitment to the industry.

“I really, really love it. It’s definitely a passion of mine. I love meeting new people, getting to know them and helping them feel more beautiful about themselves,” she said.

Evenden decided to locate her salon in Lock Haven due to being a long time resident of the town. She was born and raised in the Keystone Central school district and felt a strong connection to the area, intending to settle down here for the foreseeable future. She also wanted to provide an opportunity for specialized skincare routines closer to those who live in Lock Haven, so they wouldn’t have to drive far to a larger city to achieve this kind of treatment.

Coco’s Beauty Loft offers a wide variety of services for those looking to give themselves a relaxing and refreshing skincare experience. The main service provided at the salon is full body waxing, using a unique type of wax to ease the experience.

“I use a specialized hard wax for all the sensitive skin areas on the body. It’s made to provide a gentle waxing experience versus a more harsh wax that can cause harm and more painful irritation to the skin,” Evenden said.

In addition to the wax treatments, an assortment of facial masks are provided for any kind of skin types or conditions that might be present in her customers. Lastly, brow and lash laminations or lifts round out her primary services offered.

With the grand opening today, Evenden hopes to get the word out about her business and meet new people looking to improve their skincare routines. Outside of the opening, her general business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays.
