The ’90s was arguably one of the best times in fashion, and I’m not just saying that because I am a ’90s kid. The red carpet was filled with funky fashion. Clothes were wild, spirits were free, and jewelry was a necessary staple. It seemed as if there weren’t any rules when it came to accessorizing, it was a way to express yourself through your personal style.

Fashion goes full circle, and in the year 2023 so many fun trends from ’90s and early 2000’s are here for the long haul. An easy way to give your closet a facelift is by adding a few new accessories each season to wear with all of your looks. It is crazy how a single piece of jewelry can change an entire outfit. Not sure where to begin your new accessory search? We have you covered with our favorite jewelry styles that are taking over for the coming seasons.

Ahead, eight ’90s jewelry trends that are making a comeback this year.

Chokers

The iconic ’90s choker is back and is new and improved, with elevated styles. A choker is a seductive and alluring piece which can dress up any look. Keep it classic with a chain necklace or opt for a choker with delicate layers. Or, in true ’90s fashion, style a faux leather band with a fun heart charm.

Cord Necklaces

Cord necklaces are casual and easy to style no matter what the occasion. The cord necklace is all about letting your personality shine through. The quirky jewelry trend is a celebrity favorite, worn by our favorite IT girls Bella Hadid and Iris Law.

Hoop Earrings

Hoop earrings never went out of style but have gone in phases of fashion. The ’90s brought large bedazzled hoops to the forefront worn by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton. Today there are so many styles to choose from no matter what your preference, from dainty silver loops to chunky gold hoops.

Anklets

Anklets are a fun addition to any summer look. Delicate ankle jewelry can be styled from the beach to the bar. For a little bit of whimsy opt for a beaded anklet and for the fashionista with minimalistic style, you can’t go wrong with a rope chain style.

Nameplate Necklaces

I remember I first fell in love with the nameplate necklace when Miley Cyrus wore a style from Kitson LA many, many moons ago. Fast forward to 2022, and the nameplate necklace has been reinvented with styles for everyone. Stay classic with a script necklace, or try for something edgier like a heart pendant.

Bangles

There’s something so fun about wearing a stack of bangles. Maybe it’s the clinking sound they make, maybe it’s the fact that you can never wear too many. Add the perfect third piece to your look with your favorite stack of bangles in either silver or gold.

Classic Pearls

Pearls originally garnered the reputation of being preppy and fancy. Although they can dress up a look, there are so many styles to choose from now to fit any fashion aesthetic. Stay classic with an imitation pearl necklace, or try a new style like the V. Bellan chain necklace below.

Butterfly Detailing

Perhaps the most iconic butterfly accessory of the ’90s was the butterfly hairlip, but butterfly jewelry is also a Y2K staple. Add
